Position Filled-Education Coordinator

Program: Outreach and Education

Job Summary

The Education Coordinator, under the general direction of the Program Manager, is responsible for the organization and implementation of the education programs, including NAMI’s Peer to Peer (P2P), Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and Anger Management programs.  This includes supervising consumers of mental health services in the programs, arranging and coordinating courses, and collecting and submitting data from the courses to the Program Manager.

Minimum Requirements
Completion of NAMI’s Peer to Peer, WRAP, MHFA, Anger Management, NAMI’s In Our Own Voice presenter training, and/or Stamp Out Stigma presenter training preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; well-defined organizational and time management skills and collaborative work style. Able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients and other persons contacted through TMHA business. Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements.  May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance.  Must comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting.  Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.

Compensation
Part-Time, 15 hours per week.  $13.86-$18.07, depending on experience.
