Job Summary
Housing Assistants for the adult program assist the Program Manager with the daily business operations of the residential programs and provide direct client services and interventions as needed. They also perform moderate facility maintenance, function as positive role modes, promote cooperation and harmony in communal living, and uphold and promote the program philosophy in all duties performed.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (related humanities field preferred) and minimum one year, full-time experience with psychiatrically disabled population or two years full-time related experience with psychiatrically disabled population. People with experience receiving mental health services preferred. Good judgment, decision making and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. At the time of hire, as a condition of employment, must comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result. Must be fingerprinted and receive a criminal record clearance as a condition of employment. Must be 18 years of age as required by TMHA’s insurance carrier. Must hold (or obtain within 45 days of employment) a valid California Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a DMV driving report satisfactory to TMHA’s insurance carrier. Employee is required to maintain a driving record satisfactory to insurance company requirements. Ability to possess and maintain good physical and mental health.
Compensation
Part – Time, 15 hours per week. $15.36 to $20.88 per hour, depending on experience.
