Program: Family Services - Lompoc
Job Summary
Transitions - Mental Health Association (TMHA) has a position available for a Family Partner in Lompoc. The Family Partner functions as a liaison with family members, care givers, consumers, County Mental Health Services staff, local Alliance for the Mentally Ill (AMI) groups, and other service providers. This position provides support, education, information and referral, community outreach for families of adult consumers with psychiatric disabilities, and works collaboratively with agencies within the mental health system. The Family Partner will uphold the program philosophy in all duties performed and promote social rehabilitation, recovery and wellness.
Compensation
Part-Time, 20 hours per week, $12.13 to $16.63 per hour, depending on experience.
Minimum Requirements
Spanish bilingual/bicultural preferred. Preference will be given to a family member of a person with a psychiatric disability. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets Transitions – Mental Health Association’s current vehicle insurance requirements. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types. Knowledge of mental illness treatment and medications, as well as related systems such as County Mental Health, Social Security, Vocational Rehabilitation etc. Must be responsible, and reliable, and possess problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Facilitator training a plus. Computer Skills. Knowledge of substance abuse issues as they relate to people with psychiatric disabilities a plus.
