Job Summary
The Peer Advisory and Advocacy Team (PAAT) Coordinator provides assistance and coordination to all PAAT functions. PAAT is a consumer advisory council of mental health stakeholders, supports an integrated system that reflects the principles of hope and choice, promotes a recovery environment, encourages education, honors each individual’s spiritual pathway, and embraces self-awareness and compassion for others. The PAAT Coordinator upholds and promotes these values.
Minimum Requirements
Must be an individual with experience as a consumer of mental health services. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets Transitions – Mental Health Association’s current vehicle insurance requirements. Dependable transportation and ability to travel within the county and state when needed. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types.
Knowledge of mental illness treatment and medications, as well as related systems such as County Mental Health, Social Security, Vocational Rehabilitation etc. a plus. Must be responsible, and reliable, and possess problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Spanish Bilingual a plus. Knowledge of substance abuse issues as they relate to people with psychiatric disabilities a plus.
Compensation
Part Time. $9.90- $12.87 per hour, depending on experience.
