Position Filled - Program Coordinator, Santa Maria & Lompoc

Job Summary

The Program Coordinator for the Recovery Learning Centers (LRC) is responsible for the growth, establishment, organization and direction of program staff, family members and adult clients with psychiatric disabilities in both the Lompoc and the Santa Maria Centers. The LRC’s are currently in their early development period and are working to assure that adults experiencing SMI along with their family members can acquire and enhance skills that will help enable them to live and work successfully in the community. This position promotes learning, independence, wellness and recovery both inside the community and outside, into the surrounding community. The Program Coordinator is responsible for having knowledge and skills in all aspects of the program. The Program Coordinator will uphold and promote the program philosophy in all duties performed.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field is desired. Two years experience in wellness and recovery with adults experiencing severe mental illness is preferredl Spanish Bi-Lingual preferred. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive between Santa Maria and Lompoc regularly. Ability to work independently and flexibly. Must hold (or obtain within 45 days of employment) a valid California Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, a DMV driving report satisfactory to TMHA’s insurance carrier and 2 years driving experience, as a condition of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age. At the time of hire, as a condition of employment, must comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result and a health screen indicating fit for duty for this position. Must be fingerprinted and receive a criminal record clearance satisfactory to TMHA’s insurance carrier, as a condition of employment. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; well defined organizational and time management skills, and collaborative work style; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business. Good judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills. Self-identification as a former consumer of Public or Private mental health services is a plus.

Compensation

FULL-TIME, 30 HOURS PER WEEK, BENEFIT ELIGIBLE. $16.15 - $21.00 per hour, DOE
