Job Summary
Transitions - Mental Health Association (TMHA) has a position available for an Assistant Coordinator.  This is a Full-Time position. The SLO Hotline staff offers support and encouragement to callers, refers them to mental health and related resources in the community and assesses for crises and suicide.  In the event that a caller is in a crisis, the staff will provide follow-up linkage to appropriate crisis intervention personnel.  This position promotes recovery and wellness, encouraging callers in their self-care.


The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator in the operations of the call center, including volunteer scheduling, supervision of volunteers and documentation required by contracting agencies. The Assistant Coordinator also answers calls from the public and County Mental Health staff during designated evening, weekend and overnight periods, and supervises volunteers handling these calls.  The staff will uphold and promote the philosophy of TMHA in all duties performed.

Minimum Requirements
Must be available to work evening, overnight and weekend shifts. Spanish Bi-lingual preferred. Must have clear oral/written communication skills; ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must be familiar with basic telephone and cell phone functions. Must be reliable, ethical, and work well with minimum supervision. Good judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills. Reliable transportation to and from work. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age  At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. 

Compensation
 Full-Time, Exempt. Benefit eligible.  $28,828-$37,585 annually, DOE
