Position Closed-Homeless Outreach Worker, Part-Time

Job Summary:
The Outreach Workers are expected to identify homeless mentally ill adults in the community, assess their medical and psychiatric needs, and assist them in obtaining appropriate health services.  They also function as positive role models, promote cooperation and harmony in communal living, and uphold and promote the program philosophy in all duties performed.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related Human Services field and at least 1 year of social rehabilitation experience; or at least 3 years social rehabilitation experience. A high level of organizational and time management skills; self-motivated with the ability to work in an autonomous environment. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements.  May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance.  At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting.  Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.

Compensation:
Part-time position available; 20 hours per week. $15.36-$20.88 per hour, DOE
