Program: Wellness Centers/Supported Employment
Job Summary
Transitions – Mental Health Association (TMHA) has an opening for a Center Support Aide/Job Coach position. This position is a dual employee position with both the SLO Wellness Centers and Supported Employment programs.
The Center Support Aide/Job Coach is responsible for assisting with organization and direction of SLO Wellness Centers designed to assist adults in their journey to mental health wellness & recovery, as well as connect members and participants to their community. This position promotes mental health wellness & recovery for the members and is responsible for having knowledge and skills in all aspects of the Wellness Centers. This position is also responsible for conducting work assessments and providing on/off-site job training and vocational support to clients who have been placed in competitive employment. The Center Support Aid/Job Coach is the primary support staff who helps the clients adjust to their employment.
Minimum Requirements
Individuals who have had lived experience as a consumer of mental health services are encouraged to apply. High School diploma or equivalent an awareness/understanding of the needs of psychiatrically disabled population; and/or experience in field of job coaching. Must have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs.
Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; well defined organizational and time management skills, and collaborative work style. Ability to handle intense situations, display good judgment and decision making skills and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum of 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance. At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
Compensation
Part-Time, 15 hours per week
When working as a Center Support Aide - $10.00 to $12.87 per hour (depending on experience)
When working as a Job Coach - $11.27-$14.74 (depending on experience)
