Job Summary
Under the
supervision of the Program Manager and through teamwork with the Assistant
Manager, the Job Developer will be responsible for effectively identifying,
developing, and maintaining competitive employment opportunities for job
seekers residing in North San Luis Obispo County. The Job Developer will have
an understanding of disclosure of disability and reasonable accommodations, may
accompany clients to job interviews, and, once hired will serve as an
intermediary between employer and employee to ensure good fit and
longevity. The Job Developer will also
work in partnership with the Assistant Manager by providing training on
interview skills, proper attire, and professional etiquette. The Job Developer will uphold and promote the
program philosophy in all duties performed.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s
Degree in mental health or social services, business, personnel management or
vocational services and 1 year of experience in job developing, placement, or
vocational coaching; OR High
School Diploma and at least 4 years experience in job developing, placement, or
vocational coaching. Knowledge of the
work world preferred. Awareness/
understanding of the needs of psychiatrically disabled population. Ability to work as an effective team player
is essential. Strong interpersonal
skills and oral/written communication skills.
Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of
age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, minimum of 2 years driving
experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving
record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle
and auto insurance. At the time of hire,
other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest
x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal
record clearance through fingerprinting.
Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
Compensation
Part-Time, 24 hours per week
$13.86 to $18.07 per hour, depending on experience.
