Job Summary
Transitions - Mental Health Association (TMHA) has a full time position available for an Office Assistant. Under the general direction of the Office Coordinator and Finance Director, the Office Assistant will be responsible for data entry, typing, answering the telephone, miscellaneous bookkeeping and all other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience general office or secretarial work, including experience in performing executive assistant level work for executives and Boards of Directors. Must type 45wpm, perform 10-key by touch, proficient in word processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Possess knowledge of standard business document styles. Completion of High School or equivalent. Ability to handle crisis situations, display good judgment and decision-making skills, and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure. Well-defined organizational and time management skills, showing superior skills in maintaining records, calendars and other information. Must hold (or obtain within 45 days of employment) a valid California Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a DMV driving report satisfactory to TMHA’s insurance carrier, as a condition of employment. At the time of hire, as a condition of employment, must comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result and a health screen indicating fit for duty. Must be fingerprinted and receive a criminal record clearance as a condition of employment. Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills with an ability to read and interpret documents; able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level. Must be 18 years of age as required by TMHA’s insurance carrier. Employee is required to maintain a driving record satisfactory to insurance company requirements. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business.
Compensation
Full-time, 30 hours per week, benefit eligible
$12.13 to $16.63 per hour (depending on experience)
