Job Summary
The Retail Sales Clerk is responsible for all customer service and sales functions at the Growing Grounds Downtown site. Duties include working with consumers of mental health services; greeting and engaging customers; opening and closing cash register; processing cash and credit sales transaction; packaging and wrapping sold items; arranging, and displaying goods for sale; and maintaining shop cleanliness. The position is responsible for providing clear communication with Supervisor regarding sales strategies, marketing, inventory, customer feedback and feedback for consumer staff. The Retail Sales Clerk will be knowledgeable of the agency’s philosophy and mission and is responsible for promoting this philosophy within the job role.
Hours/Salary
Relief position. $8.80 to $11.48 hourly, depending on experience.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years experience working in a retail setting. Nursery sales and/or significant plant knowledge strongly preferred. Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets Transitions-Mental Health Association’s current vehicle insurance requirements. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Marketing and display arrangement experience preferred. Strong monetary record keeping and cash handling skills and experience required. Must be able to lift and move merchandise and inventory.
